 Good morning Vikings! 

    • We have our spring sports rally coming up! The rally will be the first Wednesday we get back from spring break.  This is a class competition rally so make sure you wear your class colors. To refresh your memory,
      • Freshmen-grey
      • Sophomores-black
      • Juniors-blue
      • Seniors-white

    So make sure you’re ready to show your Viking Pride!

  • Make sure you bring your change at lunch to the MP Room and put it in your class’s bucket for the pennies for patients campaign. Give a little to make a big difference. This is our last week of Pennies for Patients


  • This Friday at lunch there will be an all school egg hunt. Everyone is invited to participate. It’s simple, look for the plastic eggs that are hidden around campus. Before lunch is over, bring the eggs to the check-in table in front of the MP Room and exchange them for your candy. Keep an eye out for the golden eggs!


  • Prom tickets are now on sale at the bookkeeper’s window. Tickets are $65 with a VIP card and $70 without and for guests. Dinner is provided and it is going to be an awesome night that you won’t want to miss. Guest passes are also available in the student store. The last day to purchase your tickets is April 13th, so make sure you don’t procrastinate. You’ll want to be there!

  • The City of Sacramento Landscape and Learning is now accepting applications.  Applicants must be 14 to 17 years old on June 1 and live within Sacramento City limits.  Applications are available in the Career Center or for download at: .  Search Youth Aide.  Deadline is Monday, April 2nd at 4:00PM, no exceptions


  • Attention AP Students! AP test sales are under way. Make sure you purchase your test before spring break. Please you bring your form, letter, ID card, and money to the bookkeepers office to purchase your test. Any questions or concerns come see Ms. Houck in H2


Club News

  • Students interested in photography:  We are starting a new portrait photography class after school on Wednesdays where we will use professional studio lighting to learn about different types of lighting and posing used to photograph people.  Experience with a camera is helpful but not necessary.  You can come to learn about the process, or you can come as a model and have studio photographs taken for free!  The first meeting is March 21st after school.  Please see Ms. Brescia in Room H3 for questions or more information. 


  • Interested in performing at rallies? Participating in dance fest or performing in the annual mainstage? Valley’s very own footworks dance company will be holding auditions on April 9th through April 11th in the wrestling room and dance room from 3:30-5:30. There will be an additional training on March 19th and 21st from 3:30-5:30pm. Please wear something comfortable. No jeans. We will be looking for 30 members for the next season.

Athletic News

  • Cheerleading Tryouts are coming up in April. If you would like to be apart of the 2018/2019 Football Season Cheer Team, see Ms. Wardlaw in room F3 for more information and an informational packet.


Senior News:

  • Seniors- be sure to get your permission slip and $65 to the bookkeeper’s window for senior trip soon. The cut off is shortly after prom, so if you do it now, you still have two months before prom.
  • Seniors!!!!  The Elk Grove Education Association is offering a scholarship to any seniors who have graduated from Prairie Elementary and will be attending a 4-year university or trade school.  To apply, pick up an application in the career center.
